“Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!”
When I first came to work at Summitview, they were on the brink of a new season for the church. The pastors were wanting to make some big changes, including starting a new service that would cater to a younger crowd. I was tasked with refreshing the Summitview brand to reflect the new changes.
In many ways, the changes made were toward a simpler and streamlined brand. Summitview’s previous mark was a light, desaturated green mark with rounded corners. I changed Summitview’s brand color to a bright yellow orange, using color psychology to reflect a more active and livelier brand. The corners of the mark were brought out to sharp corners and the text was set in all caps for a bolder logo.
The updated logo and new color were integrated into business cards, vision and value cards, and eventually to a new website.
